Probably the best full norfolk tweed shooting jacket that can be obtained be it new , bespoke or vintage.

"The jacket is in green with an unusual yellowish tint and red and dark green woven stripes. There is a water resistant 'drop liner' made from a finely woven cotton, rather like the famous Grenfell cloth. A drop liner so called because it is attached at the top of the garment but not at the bottom to allow water that soaks through the tweed outer layer to run off. The jacket has the usual Norfolk jacket features such as a removable belt (with leather buckle, shoulder reinforcements and collar fastening with throat latch to keep out the elements. There is an intricate 'pivot sleeve' feature and an 'action back' pleat to allow freedom for casting a fly or shouldering a shotgun. The jacket features a useful internal 'poacher's' pocket, two interior wallet pockets and two large outside bellows pockets with buttoned flaps. Altogether a most practical and robust jacket that look well and give many years of service in the field. The label says 'Dry Clean Only' as may be expected."


This is not a cheaper later example. This true early vintage is made from a much better Derby tweed, with more attention to the tailoring and detailing.

You get a superior quality tweed, luxury cotton lining (more breathable for proper field coats). Leather covered belt, belt with metal eyelets, underarm armpit detail that provides more room and flexibility when raising the sleeve.
